International Corporate Bank - Developing shared goals and values

Overview:
Newly formed team, whose main function is to design and develop recruitment strategies and tools for the UK and European offices.

Objective:
To facilitate an event that would result in a greater understanding of each other, the impact they have on their clients, develop their vision, mission and values, as well as flesh out their roadmap for 2004/05.

Solution:
2 x 4 hour workshops covering the following:

  • Use of psychometric tool (Strengths Deployment Inventory) to assess individual strengths, personal values and reactions to conflict
  • Team exercises that required co-operation, communication and participation
  • Creative sessions to brainstorm team vision, values and mission
  • Interactive sessions to map out activities and responsibilities for 2004/5

Result:

  • Team developed and bought into a WOW Vision Mission and Values, which have been endorsed by senior management.
  • All activities for 2004/5 have been clearly identified, and are underway.
  • Individuals within the team developed deeper relationships.
  • Motivated and highly energised team.
